Strengthening and improving child protection services in the Mitrovica region

In September 2022, we started implementing the project “Strengthening and improving child protection services in the Mitrovica region”.

The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacities of children, adolescents, and youth from primary and secondary schools in the Mitrovica Region for the prevention of violence and abuse, and to improve the functionality of violence prevention teams at the school level.

An important component of the program entails comprehensive training of peer mediators, alongside the establishment of peer teams dedicated to violence prevention within schools. The training sessions address critical subjects such as multiculturalism, non-discrimination, and participation. Additionally, the project aims to empower the existing prevention of violence school teams, composed of education professionals.

This project is financially supported by the European Union in Kosovo in partnership with UNICEF. The project started on 01 September 2022 and will end on 31 December 2023.
