Peer Mediation Forum

What are peer violence, neglect, and abuse? Where can children and young people find help? How does mediation help to solve problems? What is the role of the Teams for Protection Against Discrimination, Violence, Abuse, and Neglect?

These topics were discussed at the “Peer Mediation Forum” organized by Domovik on May 24th at the Cultural Centre in Zubin Potok.

Below are participants’ testimonials:

Sofija Jaksic

“In my opinion, problem solving through peer mediation is something our society needs. I think that preparation for peer mediators is very important, and everyone should go through that training.”

Ognjen Radivojevic

“Peer mediation is a very important topic that must not be neglected because it is important for us. Today, I noticed that the children who were in the audience—our peers, younger and older—showed a great interest in this topic. We briefly and effectively demonstrated what techniques and methods they can use to resolve a conflict peacefully.”

Elena Bozovic

“Peer mediation is a type of informal education very important to complement the formal knowledge that we get in schools. Mediation helped me to become more resourceful, to recognize conflict and violence, and to try to resolve them in the best possible way.”
